About me

I live in the beautiful village of Downe in Kent and I run classes and workshops in my home studio in the centre of Downe.

I have always been fascinated by glass the way it appears still and comes to life with the sunlight. I found myself being drawn into buildings to marvel at the stained glass, the sheer beauty of it.

I enrolled on a stained glass course at my local college and I have not looked back. Glass is a beautiful medium to work with, and I was delighted when I completed the course with several stained glass panels.

I continued to work with stained glass and many years later I discovered the world of glass fusing, whilst on holiday in Cornwall. I purchased two glass coasters from a gallery and was keen to know how this was achieved. I enrolled myself on a college course at the Learning Enterprise College Bexley to learn more about fusing glass. Under the guidance of an inspirational tutor I was hooked.

After 5 years an opportunity arose to teach creative glass at the college I was studying at. I completed and gained my Education and Training award Level 3 to teach adults, and I have been teaching adults in further education colleges in Greater London and Kent for the last seven years.

In 2023 I started to teach classes and workshops from my home studio in Downe Kent, hoping to inspire others to enjoy the beauty of glass, creating an inspiring and supportive atmosphere for students to learn in small groups.

I take a lot of inspiration for my work from nature, the countryside and coastal walks. I love spending my free time researching, experimenting with fusing techniques and the science behind this.

In 2023 and 2024 I participated in South East Open studios. The event showcases the work of local artists and makers situated in Kent, Surrey and Sussex who open their studios and homes to visitors.

My motivation comes from making creative activities more accessible to everyone and I am passionate about the benefits of taking up a creative skill to improve your well being.
